‘Acid’ assault on three minor women in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district

Three minor women have been attacked with some chemical on their faces whereas they have been sleeping of their home in a village in Gonda district, police stated on Tuesday.

While the household stated the ladies had acid thrown on their faces, police are but to determine the chemical and have launched a forensic examination.

The incident occurred in Parsapur space of the district.

Father of the ladies Gurhai stated it occurred at 1:30 am on Tuesday. He was sleeping on the verandah on the bottom ground whereas the three women have been sleeping on the primary ground, he stated.

He stated he had no clue about who attacked the ladies and suspects that the suspects used a ladder to climb as much as the room from the opposite aspect.

“When my daughters screamed, I immediately opened the door and grabbed one of them. When my vest burned, I got to know that somebody had thrown acid at them”, he instructed an area information channel.

Shailesh Kumar Pandey, SP Gonda, stated the eldest daughter suffered 30% burns, whereas the opposite two suffered 20% and 5-7% burn accidents.

All the three women have been out of hazard and receiving therapy at a hospital, stated police.

Mr. Pandey stated the household didn’t have any thought about who may have performed the act as they didn’t have any identified animosity. He, nonetheless, suspects the miscreant could also be from the close by kasba.

An FIR can be registered, stated Mr. Pandey.

Congress basic secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tweeted on the incident. “The U.P. government’s politically motivated narrative of justifying and protecting perpetrators of crimes against women has only emboldened criminals across the state”, she stated.
