Feminist creator Amy Siskind responded to the apology by blasting Barrett.

“I am embarrassed she is in any way associated with our sisterhood,” Siskind wrote. “She does not stand for our values, and that goes well beyond a half century old decision. but I appreciate national addressing the hurt this has caused.”

Others, nevertheless, blasted Siskind for this response.
