Air Police operations stay a elementary part to how NATO offers safety to its members. These peacetime missions contribute to the collective protection of alliance nations, like Iceland, Albania, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Montenegro, as the only normal for safeguarding sovereign airspace inside NATO’s space of duty.

“The routine deployment demonstrates Alliance solidarity and the transatlantic linkage at work,” stated U.S. Air Force Brigadier General Andrew Hansen, NATO Allied Air Command Deputy Chief of Staff Operations.

The mission demonstrates NATO’s continued evolution of air agility capabilities and adaptation to fulfill new safety challenges to guard all members. Aircrews stand ready to watch and handle Icelandic airspace for the following few weeks as they function and familiarize themselves with the distinctive geographical location.
